Through Her Eyes
Stories of strength. Perseverance. Reinvention.
Through my voice, my stories, my singing, I am a way-shower, a hand-holder, and a voice of encouragement.

Through my voice, my stories, my singing, I am a way-shower, a hand-holder, and a voice of encouragement.
I don’t stand above people. I stand with them so they can find their own strength. Because when one person sees what is possible, something shifts. And that shift can change everything.
My life is a timeline of transformation.
From navigating a world not built for me, to building strength through adversity, to loss, grief, and rediscovering who I am, each chapter has shaped the woman I am today. A woman who continues to evolve, who refuses to quit, who stands in her authenticity, who believes there is always another side to even the hardest moments.
I was born a Thalidomide baby. I am a single mother. A woman who has loved and lost a partner and parent to cancer. Someone who found purpose through fitness and wellness by learning to embrace what I have. And through it all, I am still here. Still thriving. Still becoming.

I’m not here to offer surface-level motivation. I’m here to show what it looks like to move through hard things and rise. I speak about:
• Strength and perseverance
• Joy, comebacks, and victory
• Gratitude and personal growth
• Reinvention, self-love, and self-discovery
Born in the early 1960s as a United States Thalidomide survivor, Lisa entered the world with extraordinary challenges. Diagnosed with Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency (PFFD), she endured years of intensive medical treatment beginning in early childhood. Much of her formative years were spent in and out of hospitals undergoing multiple leg-lengthening surgeries, ultimately leading to amputation at the age of eight. While she lost her leg, she gained an unshakeable resilience.
As the oldest of four children raised by a single mother, Lisa developed tenacity and responsibility at a young age, helping care for her three younger brothers while her mother worked multiple jobs to support the family.
Lisa married young and became the mother of two sons. After her divorce just four years later, she faced the realities of single motherhood and financial hardship, working tirelessly to provide, from casino jobs to fueling military jets at a Navy base. Her life took a pivotal turn when she met the love of her life, Theron. They went on to marry and his support created the space for her personal growth and transformation.
Through bodybuilding and fitness, Lisa rebuilt not only her physical strength but also her mental and emotional resilience. Her passion led her to become a certified trainer through ACE and NASM, and she went on to launch her first business, Fitness Incentives. Soon after, she co-founded Total Fitness Athletic Club, Inc., a thriving 11,000-square-foot health and wellness facility serving her rural community.
Despite her professional success, Lisa faced profound personal loss over the following decade: the closure of her business in 2013, the passing of her mother in 2014, and the loss of her husband several years later. These events led to a period of deep grief and self-discovery. Through that journey, Lisa found her way back to her authentic self, stronger, wiser, and fully aligned with her purpose.
Today, Lisa shares her message of resilience, courage, and transformation as a speaker and performer. She’s passionate about music, the arts, travel, nature, and meaningful connection. She treasures time with her grown children, family, and friends, and brings authenticity and heart into everything she does.
Whether you're planning an event, seeking a speaker, or simply feel called to reach out, I welcome the conversation.
